"Revealing the lives of migrant couples and transnational households, this book explores the dark side of the history of migration in Argentina during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Using court records, censuses, personal correspondence and a series of case studies, María Bjerg offers a portrayal of the emotional dynamics of transnational marital bonds and intimate relationships stretched across continents. Using microhistories and case studies, this book shows how migration affected marital bonds with loneliness, betrayal, fear and frustration. Este texto reflexiona sobre una investigación reciente y expone las líneas generales de un nuevo proyecto de trabajo inspirado en la historia de las emociones y la historia de las sensibilidades que examina distintas formas de violencia contra las mujeres (desde el maltrato moral y físico hasta el asesinato) perpetrada en el ámbito doméstico por maridos o concubinos en la Argentina entre 1890 y fines de la década de 1950, con el objeto de echar luz sobre las configuraciones sensibles y emocionales que habilitaban la violencia y sobre los umbrales de tolerancia social hacia ella.

Este trabajo constituye una primera aproximación a los vínculos que gestaron un universo de mestizaje biológico y cultural en la frontera de Buenos Aires durante el siglo XIX. Tiene por objeto realizar una indagación del mestizaje observado, por un lado, desde las mujeres indias y sus relaciones sexuales y amorosas con hombres hispano criollos y por otro, desde el parentesco simbólico. Este abordaje de la familia y el parentesco pretende iluminar desde un ángulo diferente las relaciones entre infieles y cristianos, que hasta ahora han sido analizadas a través del comercio, los tratados y la violencia expresada en malones o en intervención de fuerza militar hispano-criolla en territorio indio. ; Facultad de Humanidades y Ciencias de la Educación

<p>El artículo intenta reconstruir la vida cotidiana de los vecinos de un pueblo de la frontera de la provincia de Buenos Aires, en un tiempo (la segunda mitad del siglo XIX) signado por las amenazas de molones e invasiones indígenas. Para reconstruir la experiencia de ese mundo local se utiliza una estrategia narrativa que repara en los acontecimientos y los protagonistas de una densa sociabilidad empleando una amplia gama de fuentes de las cuales la más relevante es el diario personal de Dorothea Fugl, una inmigrante danesa que vivió en Tandil durante aquellos años.</p><p> </p>
